Sorry for the long absence. But I am back and gearing up for collections - I apologize for the abrupt absence last season. This season I am going to do something different - focus on key looks and trends. Enjoy!
Okay, this is one of those one off blog posts that just have to be said!
Barbara Walters was on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday (6/14) and when asked by Mister Seacrest about life on “The View” since Rosie’s graceful exit, she said
"The Hot Topics have been fun. There are some things that we were able to discuss that we weren't able to discuss with Rosie, like heterosexual sex. Because, you know, Rosie's lifestyle is different, being an open lesbian...We are perhaps not quite as political [or] vocal about [things], but the Hot Topics have been very fun, and the ratings are up, so we're quite happy. Obviously, the audience is very loyal."
I just fired off an email to Ms. Walters explaining that because of her comment and lack of backbone in the whole Rosie affair. I am officially deleting “The View” from my TiVo. I continued to watch after Rosie left hoping that the life Rosie brought to the show would continue. Sadly that life only glimmered when Whoopi Goldberg or Cathy Griffin were guest hosts. After I sent Barbara the email I also fired off an email to Joy Behar. In it I told her I was going to miss her and she is really the only reason why the show is still on the TV. I mentioned that while Rosie was the temporary glue or fix she was certainly the steel frame structure of the show.
With that said! No more “VIEW”!

And that's two! Actress, Socialite and Humanitarian Kitty Carlisle Hart passed away yesterday, April 19th, 2007 of pneumonia. She is survived by her daughter Catherine, son Christopher and three grandchildren. The lights on Broadway dimmed last night and her strong and witty personality will never be forgotten.
Turlie.com is finally up and running! I am still trying to get all my posts transfered from blogger. Please be patient with me. I will start posting reviews pretty soon. Thank you for your patience!
Taking the Holidays and New Year off to get the new site up and running....be back soon!!!!!!
Just this once I am moving off the fashion grid and on to the political rant! I was doing my regular political blog roll and ran across a recent posting over at Wonkette. The piece was on how President Bush has been using his time this holiday season. Referring to the recent oval office web fairytale of "Barney's Whitehouse Extravaganza". The disturbing part of this story is not that the oval office's need to take time away from the unsettling problems in the middle east to drum and waist "our" money on a ridiculous fairytale such as this. No, rather the disturbing part is the photo Wonkette posted with the entry! President Bush sitting a the oval office desk! Let me show you:
President Clinton astonished by the pile of work he needs to get done on the Oval Office Desk back early 2001. photo by PF Bentley
PF Bentley took this photo the morning of george bush's inauguration. Notice President Clinton was kind enough to clean the desk off and tidy up the room for Bush. photo by PF Bentley
Now, this is the photo that Wonkette posted with the blog entry. It seems that President Bush was never told he could keep anything on his desk. There are two really disturbing things in this photo:
1. The obvious is that President Bush has no work sitting on his desk.
2. And the most disturbing thing about this photo is the absence of any of the White House Artifacts that are rich with history. President Clinton had numerous historical busts sitting on his desk as well as he used frames from previous Presidents. Proof those who don't respect the history of their responsibility will embark on a personal journey for themselves.
Notice in the current photo of President Bush, that nothing appears to be sitting on the desk besides the phone and empty in box. Of coarse Barney makes the photo but not that important report of issue in the Middle East! Now granted I did search the web for a photo with the President Bush's desk covered in papers, but alas there was none, only one with two binders with the seal of the Vice President.
Now look at President Bush's Bookshelves.........Almost All China (Plates) - I am sorry is this George's office or Laura's?

The Dixie Chicks documentry is a must see and certainly in the theaters.
Ask yourself,
Why don't you go to movies anymore or as often?
Why have I resorted to waitiing for it on NETFLIX?
Because its to expensive to go see a movie.
The average cost of a movie for an individual = $15
The average cost of a movie for a couple = $31
It's important to support movies such as this, that proposes questions and supports the freedoms we are supposed to have today. Slowly these freedoms are starting to disappear.
My friend Pete over SWIMFINSSF found this really great Website Graph Tool that graphs your traffic. My graph (shown here) took over 4 minutes to load, the result is pretty amazing.
Apple just put up the trailer of the new Truman Capote bio-pic. Before you chop this movie up as another after thought of last years Oscar winning Capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Take a look at the trailer – this is the real life story of Truman Capote. A picturesque story of Truman Capote torrid and scandalous life! We are treated to an inside look of Capote’s love life with Jack Dunphy and Perry Smith along with his jet-set lifestyle and friendships with his “Swans”. The other treat is the plevé of period couture on the perfectly styled characters of Babe Paley, Slim Keith, Marella Agnelli and Diana Vreeland
Then there is Toby Jones portrayal of Capote, which puts Seymour Hoffman’s to shame.
Not to mention the powerful casting of:
Isabella Rossellini as Marella Agnelli

Juliet Stevenson as Diana Vreeland

Sigourney Weaver as Babe Paley

And Gwyneth Paltrow singing "What is this thing called love?"

itunes has put up the pilot episode of the new WB show "Aquaman" in hopes of drumming interest for the new show. The WB pulled the pilot episode of "Aquaman" from their Fall line up. The show, a spin-off from "Smallville" has been highly anticipated since Aquaman's appearence last season. Poor Tom Whelling cannot play Clark forever! Give the Blond a Chance!

I think they would have been picked up if they had casted Alan Ritchson who played Aquaman on Smallville!!!!!

Yes, it's happening 2 months earlier than last year! After the whole drama of fashion week being pushed out after the show started shooting. The season will behin airing on July 12th......
Sorry that I have been absent for so long! I am in the process of finally taking my dreams and dedication to my Blog to the next LEVEL! As of this morning TURLIE.COM is alive and under construction. I am in the process working with designers and focusing on architecture for the online magazine. My goal is to escape the confines of fluff magazine pages and useless information. I am going to post questions and seek opinions in the next couple of weeks to help me design the site. Fingers Crossed!
saw another blogger put this up and I thought it was a cute idea.....Create the soundtrack to the epic film about your Life!

Critics are clambering at the recent public appearance of Christy Turlington Burns. Christy made her first public appearance since giving birth to her new son Finn back in February. Critics have gone nuts over Christy's Balenciaga outfit, claiming its a bad take on a scouting uniform. My first reaction to seeing her photo, SHE LOOKS AMAZING for just given birth 2 months ago. Bravo Christy you look great and personally I love the outfit. I know the weather in New York has been warm so the outfit fits the occasion perfectly!
Last Night, Brokeback Mountain was robbed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. First Michelle Williams is snubbed, then Heath Ledger and finally for best ensemble cast they get left in dirt for “Crash”. I’ve seen all the winning films, including “Crash”. I am sorry “Crash” was a good movie, it’s a “Traffic” sequel in my book. And personally the “Traffic” cast was 10 times better than the cast of “Crash”. Then there is a little movie called the “Constant Gardner”. Now I love Rachel Weisz, but her performance is no different than her performance in “The Mummy” or “Constantine”. Williams performance in Brokeback is more powerful and certainly out of her safe acting shell.
The Academy of Arts & Entertainment will announce the nominations for the Oscars tomorrow morning – bright and early. Certainly both Ledger and Williams will be nominated, but will Jake Gyllenhal get a nod for best supporting actor. My fingers are crossed! I must say that Michelle Williams looked amazing at the SAG awards, even better than the Globes. Anne did improve her look, just a little.
It’s official; New Line Cinema is green lighting their remake of the MGM classic “The Women”. A travesty, pure and simple! Currently the movie is in pre-production and New Line has already casted Annette Benning, Sandra Bullock, Ashley Judd, Uma Thurman and Meg Ryan.
I have major issues with this movie being remade. Not only because its one of the greatest films ever made. Also because there is not one actress alive who is in the same league as Rosalind Russell, Norma Shear and Joan Crawford! The really odd thing about this film is that Mick Jagger is one of the producers of the film! I am sorry there has never been a greater comedic actress than Rosalind Russell. I have a bad vibe that New Line will not keep to the “No Men” policy when casting the film. So who is playing what role – no official casting of characters has been released. Here is what I am expecting…
Yes, I am an award show junky! Let’s just get that straight. For the arrivals, this year I opted to watch the NBC coverage. Giving up the usual Joan and Melissa Rivers. I am in protest of Joan’s repetitive joke of her incontinence. One year off the Rivers shtick is a healthy thing. On NBC Nancy O’Dell and Dean Cane hosted the red carpet coverage. Sadly Dean Cane only got a total 45 seconds of airtime. I like Nancy O'Dell even though she choose Wendy Pepper to be a finalist on Project Runway.....kicking out Austin Scarlet.
Well lets begin with the best dressed on the red carpet. First up is Nancy O’Dell herself, is purple silk satin gown with a plunging v-neck line. She looked great, her hair pulled back and flawless make-up. I didn’t like the gold flower necklace with slinky chains. George Clooney was very cheerful and it must be his new short haircut, which not only makes him look younger but a little more cleaned up. Other gents who opted to hit the barbershop before the ceremonies were few in number. Some notable are Jonathan Rhys Myers and Heath Ledger.
Now I understand why some actors strayed away from the sheers but in short only the TV actors have a good reason, being they are in the middle of mid-season shoots. But actors like Will Farrell and Johnny Depp don’t really have an excuse. Farrell is not shooting at the moment and Depp is shooting Pirates 2&3, which required him to wear a wig.
1. Michelle Williams & Heath Ledger
2. Ed Harris & Amy Madigan
3. Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillipe
Now onto the good stuff, my best dressed ladies of the night. Here are my top 5 picks:
1. Michelle Williams – was the visually stunning and winner of best improvement for the evening. Michele played it smart by choosing a tiered Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy gown in multiple shades of purple. The color of the gown worked perfect with her coloring and the look topped off with clean and natural makeup and her hair pulled back with a little unfinished look to match the deconstructed look of her dress.
2. Reese Witherspoon – wore a vintage white Chanel dress with a gold plate bead bodice and silver lace trimmed underskirt. Very classic and such a keeper.
3. Renee Zellweger – was stunning in her favorite designer Carolina Herrera. Wearing a black chiffon and charmeuse gown with bias straps in both fabrics. The slit up the leg was perfect cut, just enough leg to make the jaws of the fashion world to drop to the floor.
4. Gwyneth Paltrow – visited Paris couture house of Balenciaga and had a custom made white maternity gown made by Nicholas Ghesquiere. The gown was very romantic and very 18th century Jane Austin. One of Gwyneth best looks ever!
5. Pamela Anderson – I know everyone is cringing right now but she makes my top 5 because she wore a vintage black & white Bill Blass gown. Which covered everything perfectly, not only did the gown make Anderson look classic and sophisticated, she was able to make a Bill Blass gown look SEXY. Who knew a Bill Blass gown could be sexy?
Honorable mentions for best dressed is a rather long list. It seems that the ladies hired the right people to pick out their gown choices. Kiera Knightly opted for the evening favorable white, wearing a strapless white Valentino gown. Kyra Sedgwick looked amazing in a chocolate brown Bottega Veneta gown, but I can’t say the same for her husband Kevin Bacon, who looks to be still in a midlife crisis. Vanessa Paradis toned down her bohemian ways and wore a simple and serene gray satin Chanel gown. And Laura Linney definitely had the best red dress of the evening. Laura wore a signature red Valentino gown with red sating waist and trim down the slit and hem. Simply Stunning!.
My most honorable mention for the best-dressed ladies has to be Patricia Arquette. Patricia is already a voluptuous woman and she opted for a black silk taffeta and lace strapless gown. The gown fit her like a glove and she look absolutely breathtaking.
I was able to breakdown my worst dress list to 5:
1. Rachel Wiesz – was a pure example of being over worked by your hair and makeup team. That’s not even mentioning the mess of dress she was wearing, A wrinkled silk gown in matte gold was supposedly a custom made Donna Karan gown. The gown was too bulky and the color did not work with Rachel’s flawless complexion.
2. Rasario Dawson – opted for beaded peach chiffon Vintage Versace gown. She spent the entire evening trying to keep her left breast in the dress while the other hand was holding up the hem of her skirt to prevent her from stepping on the dress.
3. Virginia Madsen – wore a pale seafoam strapless gown, which the cameras accidentally got a shot of her getting out of the limo as pulled off a successful save of her chest from failing out on national television.
4. Teri Hatcher – wore a copper beaded Versace gown that matched her fake tan and it was way to long on her, she kept holding it up.
5. Anne Hathaway – decided on a starry night cocktail dress by Marc Jacobs shown last October. The dress was midnight navy blue with beading to make it look like a starry night, but against Hathaway’s fair skin you get confused at what look at.
This years Golden Globes was one big bore fest. The show was too political and stuffy. What were absent were all the memorable moments, although there were a few high points.
1. Watching the red carpet coverage on NBC was rather interesting – it was a battle of the Networks. Shawn Robinson was interviewing George Clooney down on the red carpet, behind George and Shawn you could see Mary Hart (Entertainment Tonight) on a platform above staring down towards George. She has this really pissed off look on her face, she repeatedly turns towards a man standing next to hear screaming in his ear and motioning towards George. I immediately changed to ET coverage on channel 4 to find George being interviewed by Mary Hart. Mary seemed to be all bug eyed and bouncing off the walls. George promptly says “you match like crazy!” Mary agrees “Yes my dress, lipstick and even my nails” (All Pink) the George turns and looks behind Mary and says “wait look, that woman over there matches you as well!” Mary turns and from her side profile you can see her fake smile change to “YOU BITCH!” look – Mary turns back to George and pokes back with “George your such a humor filled guy!” the interview was over! – I switched back to NBC – but could George be hopped up on pain killers?
2. Back to a great George Clooney moment – George won best supporting Actor for Syriana. During his acceptance speech George thanks Jack Abrimoff…..and follows with why would anyone name their kid Jack when there last name contains the word “Off”. Classic!
3. I was very happy to see Paul Newman win best supporting actor for Empire Falls but was more disappointed that Joanne Woodward didn’t win best supporting actress for Empire Falls – I thought she was more powerful in the TV movie than Newman.
4. Other women who were robbed… Patricia Arquette for Medium and Michelle Williams for Brokeback Mountain – Michelle and Patricia were seriously robbed – they prove that blonds can be more than just a pretty face!
5. I was extremely happy that S. Epatha Merkerson (Law & Order) won for best actress in a mini-series. I think she probably had the best one liner for the night. “I am 53 years old and I feel like I am 16 right now, even though I am having some serious heavy hot flashes right now!”
6. Loved how Harrison Ford walked out to present an award holding his Vodka and Tonic behind his back and then Virginia Madsen grabs it and holds it up as proof that Harrison was hammered!
7. I am really excited that Emmy Lou Harris’s dong “A Love That Will Never Grow Old” from Brokeback Mountain won best song. Looking forward to seeing Emmy Lou perform it at the Oscars.
8. I was really mad that Heath Ledger did not win for Best Actor, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was my runner up so I am not to bitter!
Goes to Hayden Pannetiere

Not to mention
Best Hair & Makeup

Honorable Mention and Best Sexy Little Dress
Goes to Reese Witherspoon

Best Accessories
Hands Down Reese Witherspoon
The best accessory, matching heels and jewlery!
Best Dressed Couple
Worse Dressed Goes to
Dane Cook and his date - both were wearing Calvin Klein and he looked like he just had sex in the back of the limo and her dress is about 3 seasons too old, not to mention dumpy!
I am big Starbucks junky and lately I have been toting my laptop to my local Starbucks in Los Gatos, CA to work on my collection reviews. With collections underway for Fall/Winter 2006, I will be here more often. In a pause from writing my review for the first day of the Rio shows……I am noticing several teenage girls sitting in small chat groups through out the sitting area. What has interested me is what they are wearing. Some of them are wearing nothing and most of them are wearing SWEAT tops and JEANS.
Late last year I was in Paris for the first time with my partner. We spent 3 weeks walking everywhere and soaking up every day life on the streets of Paris, I also attended a few shows during Spring/Summer collection week. In my numerous observations of Parisians, the one I kept noticing over and over is Parisian men take great care of themselves where as the women are slowly letting their relaxed lifestyle seep into their wardrobe and sense style. The Parisians are renowned for their sense of style and even today they still dress impeccably. But the men are starting to stand out more than the women when it comes to fashion. Thank God designer like McQueen and Bailey are moving men’s fashion forward!
Sitting here in California and looking at the girls gossiping over coffee, they are either barely dressed or dressed like they really don’t care. It shows in their hair to the makeup (lack of) and even to accessories. One group of girls are obviously the rocker chicks, one dressed in Harley Davidson Tube-Top and DC sneaks, the other in all Foxy brand (jacket, top, jeans and shoes) and two of them in head to toe Famous Stars and Straps, Travis Barker’s Label (Blink 182 – Drummer). (I must digress for one moment, I love Meet The Barkers on MTV – Sorry Travis Barker is HOT, in skinny TAT kind of way!
The other groups of girls were all about sweat jackets and jeans – Hair pulled up sloppily, dirty Converse shoes and Vans. Of coarse no makeup or just mascara…my advice to women of the world – if you just going to put on mascara and no other make-up, don’t put any makeup on at all. People will look at you funny instead of praising the effort of wear more than just mascara.
The absence of style is not only a growing problem just for girls but for women today. Women are still to matchy, matchy and with all the makeover shows on TV today they still wear clothes that are dated or don’t fit properly. Now I know how sad am I to be crapping on these ladies when I am sitting in a Starbucks in shorts. I know I need a job! LOL -- But hey did I go off on the women who walked in with a real Snow Cheetah Fur Vest! NO~~~! My friends Tom and Mimi are cringing as we speak……..
I love how you can still pick out the young closeted boys……one boy in a group of 6 teenage giggling girls! Oh that was so me 12 years ago….LOL
The Banana Republic challenge is back, of coarse. But of coarse the people at Banana were smart and laid out navy charmeuse for the designers to choose in the bundle of fabrics. And of coarse 3 out of the 4 designers choose the silly fabric….thinking they are playing it safe. Flashback, last year Wendy Pepper won the BR challenge with a navy silk charmeuse dress with matching cape. Now I will admit I was at the BR flagship store in San Francisco the following to see the magic number. And I will admit that I am still kicking my ASS for not buying one. It was modestly priced at $89.00…..and of coarse I just checked eBay and it’s selling for $300+. Man!
Now about those numbers in last nights challenge, Daniel V.’s skirt was amazing along with Chloe’s skirt. Diana’s was too safe in her number and well Santino is a terrible designer….every outfit his done so far has been a knock off…….He should have gone home!!!!!! And to all you Bitches out in NYC – how come no one posted on any blog or article about the Banana Republic window challenge….HELLO!!!!!
Also, I am happy to report that I won another auction for a PR dress. This time I went with Emmett’s design again (pictured) – the bidding wasn’t so ugly as last time. This time the my auction went over 15 minutes compared to last time which was over 30 minutes. I was looked at some of the other auction in the last couple of weeks and some went over 3 hours of bid wars…..eek!
And What Else Is New?????
so,
Let me see I have one child that is now "ENGAGED" and we are very happy for you both
Let me see I have one child that is expecting "TWINS" and we are very happy (twice)
Let me see I have one child that is expecting a"BABY" and we are very happy (again)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I think be are very blessed in the year 2006.
We are happy to add Clem to the family and look forward to sharing the joys of 2006 with him as a new "uncle" to these babies.
Clem and Brian have "history" together and we are glad to be the Brian's parents and part or it!
Finally some justice in the world of Project Runway! Last night the Judging panel finally came to there senses. I will have to admit that Santino was the cream of crop for the Socialite episode. For the Fashion Face-Off contest I had actually chosen Marla to be the loser this week – but after the hideous outfit Guadalupe put together, the Judges made the best decision. And for those of you who thought Marla should be loser because she copied a dress Nicky had worn previously. Shame on you, everyone in the world of fashion copies and barrows from each other’s, past or present. My favorite outfit this week is most certainly Andrae and Emmett’s dresses (pictured above).
The storms here in Northern California have wreaked havoc on everyone. We sat in candlelight last night thinking of the days in San Francisco when a power outage would not last more than hour. We remembered seeing the news reports about PG&E customers going more than 24 hours without power. Now that's just silly! How is the possible? Well when you move to burbs - expect it! Not to mention the half of our back fence blew down in the storm. We now have to replace it sooner than we expected.
Singer Sir Elton John and his longtime partner David Furnish were married today in Windsor, England. The couple exchanged vows their vows late Wed. morning at the Windsor Registry Office. Congrats gents, so happy for you both......next up is George Michael and his longtime partner. Everyone seems to be getting married? I don't think my reception will be as big as Elton's, 700 guests, although I would have expected more for him? Hmmm, I guess that's small and quant.
With X3 still in production and principle photography halfway done. Director Ratner casts two young and beautiful villianises. Actress Ashley Hartman (Holly on "The O.C") will fit into the role of Emma Frost (The White Queen). The final casting is of Mercedes Scelba-Shorte (Runner Up on the Second Season of America's Top Model). Mercedes will taking on the role of Monet St. Croix (aka - "M"). I think Hartman is a great casting choice, but Mercedes might prove to be useless. thanks x-verse
My brother and sister-in-law are having twins. Congrat C&D.......
Well I have finally broke down and added another link to our list (to the right). For the past couple of weeks I have been reading the The Trophy Boys blog. To my surprise Ricardo and Slavko (from the VH1 show KEPT) have really proved the media and America's first impression of them. They really spend a lot of their PR life helping charities and causes. So I must pay them praise for all their hard work keeping the world blogged in to their life. I am hooked! Enjoy

Recently, photos from the Vancouver set of "X3" were posted by Donald Law (seen here). But there is one little casting rumor that can be solved from one photo. In this "PHOTO" director Brett Ratner is photographed with a behind the scene's camerawoman on the right and a woman in the Yellow Shirt ! ! ! That woman is Fashion Model "Omahyra Mota". The Domincan vixen looks to be joining the X3 cast. Now have I squashed the mystery casting of the new mutant (a prostitute with powers of seduction) that X3 director Brett Ratner is rumored to be scouting for? I've searched the news and the blogs for this possible casting an nothing. Hope I am right, I must say Bravo Mr. Ratner, Omahyra is a perfect casting for the new mutant - she exudes sex and her androgynies looks make her perfect to seduce men and women??????? hmmm I smell story line.....
The UK Guardian published a glorifying article on Alexander McQueen and his rising career. The article to the average fashionista is no big new but the reporter Jess Cartner-Morely had an opportunity to comment on recent conversation with the designer. One key piece is McQueen's usual blockade to letting people in his world. McQueen commented on his upcoming collection on Oct. 7th - "It won't be florals. It's about what's happening in my mind, and I just can't think in florals". Man do I love that man, suspense and his able to deliver every time. Although, I am sure he’s cussing about the article itself.
Our friends over at FullerBratner.com posted a link to an MSNBC commentary of the Hurricane disaster and the government as whole, lack of responsibility and ignorance......trust me, if you are a republican or you voted for Bush, these are questions you might want to question as well......

thank you matt&brian

San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom was photgraphed this week stepping out with wife Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom in NYC at the Zac Posen After-Party at Soho Grand Hotel. The couple announce earlier this summer they were divorcing. I reported back in July, while walking my dogs in SF I saw the two get into their black Range Rover and drive off together. Looks like San Francisco's first couple are back together for good. Yeah!

OH MY LORD, the GIRLS are back!!!!
The season premier of Gillmore Girls is tonight, of coarse I am going to be glued to the TV. Also tonight, is the premier of SuperNatural - the new WB show with a Gillmore hunk and a Smallville Hunk. So Excited........on a lighter note - I am exstatic about the new yesterday that FEMA director Brown jumped ship, THANK YOU - lets continue to clean house shall we.....PLEASE
The second generation of the Roberts Clan is on the fast track. Emma Roberts is sign on to be the next Nancy Drew. Roberts will start production next year for Warner Brothers "Nancy Drew: The Mystery in Hollywood Hills". Emma is daughter to actor Eric Roberts and niece to all-time favority (yes I am a huge fan) Julia RobertsCurrently Emma has three films in production, two with 20th Century and 1 with Paramount. Of coarse they are all tiny bopper films....she's only 14.
Judging from this press photo, we are looking at a second generation of the All-American Sweetheart.
thanks DH
We are moving along with the new home. The floors are still in progress and supposed to be finished on Friday - Just in time for move in to the House. Can't Wait.........
Check back soon for more pix of the floors and the move in.
Found these over stayfree magazine:

Good News, reports have been posted of Colosus sighting on set and in BC. Actor Daniel Cudmore has been seen around town as well as on the Castle Set. YES!!!!!!!

More great news, english actress Olivia Williams has joined the X3 cast as Moira MacTaggert, Professor Xaviers Ex and Love instrest. Williams is a great actress, she's has some amazing credits to her name like Rushmore, The Man from Elysian Fields & The Sixth Sense.

Young actor Cameron Bright has been casted as the villian "Leech". If you are not certain who Cameron is, he was the young boy in "Birth" who made Nicole Kidman look like a hack. Other movies his done are "Godsend" with Al Pacino, great story line & "Butterfly Effect", okay two thing, one, you have to see the directors cut (warning it will fuck with you head but not in a bad way) and two, its probably going to be the ONLY film that Ashton Kutcher is good in.
Just an FYI on Leech, his a member of a Rogue group of mutants who live in the sewers. So far that's the only Morlock that has been casted for X3. As requested it looks like Halley Berry (Storm) is getting her major story line in the new movie. Just how detailed the storyline will be is not for certain, the only rumors are that Storm will be a key figure in two story lines.
Sorry Still no word on GAMBIT!
We all have our favorite James Bond, We all have our favorite James Bond Movie.......But who is your Favorite Bond Girl?

Last Tuesday, actor Sam Rockwell (Charlie's Angels & Hitchhikers Guide) attended the Grand Classics Film Series Cocktail Party. He hit the red carpet with his date Chris Mussone. (No Idea who Chris is) Now Sam is hotter than ever! It's so true that we dress alike or are twins, I cannot tell you how many pictures of us are like this one.
Thank you NYSD for the photo.

Today during my daily blog roll call I ran across this photo of Mitzi Gaynor. I thought she was dead! I have loved Mitzi Gaynor ever since I saw her in "Les Girls". Unfortunetly Mitzi's career was not long, typical for most MGM Musical Stars. Here great feats. include "Les Girls", "There's No Business Like Show Business" &"South Pacific". She looks great for 74.
The cast from the upcoming movie of the "RENT" musical were on the Today Show yesterday and they also performed in Bryant Park at a charity event for Broadway for Life, benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Dancers Responding to AIDS.
Two things I must point out, of coarse Idina Menzel looks amazing. Plus I cannot gush enough about how much I love Adam Pascal's new hair cut. He Looks 10 years younger, the man has not aged since I first saw him on stage 10 years ago. And Yes, We love Tracie Thoms, although Fredi Walker will be missed.......Now Daphne Ruben-Vega, I know Columbus must really be kicking himself......who cares if she had work done...she still can sing it, and she is the only "MIMI" I know.

Okay, I need glasses. Today I went the New York Social Diary and read todays header for the LA Social Diary by the DuPont Twins......at first glance I read it as "The Last Installment of L.A. Social Diary" -- but at second glance it read "The Latest Installment". Man, what tease of a header.
Over the past couple of months, the readers of deliscious world of David Patrick Columbia's The New York Social Diary have had displeasure of reading The DuPont Twins "We want to tell you about something you already read or heard about 2 weeks ago" Blog from Hollywood. It has been a painful couple of months watching these entries come up. At first I just stopped reading them, then I got curious about how far behind they really are in their "Their World of Hollywood". So thank you to DPC & JH of NYSD for letting me just dream.
By the way, how can anyone compare Vanessa Paradis & Johnny Depp to Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell ?
We are coming to a Close with our NEW HOME HUNT. We got really lucky, our luck was our two AWESOME agents MEREDITH & FONIA......thank you thank you thank you........The 10th is the big day......More Champagne is on ICE!!!!
I've Added their links to my site, so if you need an agent................
Back in 2002 an amazing film L' Auberge espagnole" (The Spanish Apartment) was released. An amazing movie! and I recommend you rent it today (especially is you are a Audrey Tatou fan). The Russian Dolls is the sequel. It was announced in early 2004 and production started last summer. Well it premiered in Europe in June with great reviews. Still no word yet on the US release date, hopefully it will be soon.

The original cast back together with their quirky and entusiaticly hectic lives mingled back together for a wedding (Kevin Bishop is getting married.......he looks great with the long hair).
Could there be hope in John Roberts, the new nominee to replace Sandra Day O'Connor? The LA Times reported today that Supreme Court nominee John Roberts gave substantial behind-the-scenes assistance, pro bono, to the activists who asked the Supreme Court to overturn Colorado's infamous "Amendment 2," which prohibited municipalities in Colorado from adopting any gay-friendly ordinances or policies. . . .
Go to Blue Mass. Group for details.
Ryan Phillippe was photographed recently working out in an LA Stadium. His getting in shape for Clint Eastwood's World War II epic "Flags of Our Fathers" which begins production next week. The movie tells the story of six men who raised the flag at The Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in WWII.

more photos of Ryan at Pink is the New Blog
Ryan's competition in the new film is consists of Paul Walker, Jamie Bell, Jesse Bradford & Adam Beach. Ryan is playing smart by being in tip top shape to compete with his fellow handsom cast members.

Jesse Bradford , Ryan Phillippe

Adam Beach, Paul Walker

Jamie Bell, ???????
No word yet from Eastwood and his production team who will be cast in the 6th lead role.
thanks to wireimage for some of the photos.
After many, many years Siouxsie Sioux and her band of banshees are sharing their craft AGAIN. On August 22nd they release a DVD of their performance last October in the UK. "Siouxsie & The Banshees - Dreamshow"

Brett Ratner is the director and going full steam ahead with the project. The three "main" new characters have been cast, with Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Ben Foster as Angel, and Ellen Page is Kitty Pryde. Beyond this the plot is still a mystery, yet a report recently stated that the first trailer is due around December, possibly with King Kong.
Thanks Dark Horizons
WHAT ABOUT CASTING OF "GAMBIT" ?
Dark Horizons has new updates on all the upcoming projects from Marvel. Thanks to Marvels head boss Avi Arad.......check out updates on "Captain America", "Iron Man", "Namor" & many more!
Did you know that Burt Reynolds was offered the role of James Bond after Sean Connery handed in his resignation. So Burt has been kicking himself for over 30 years now. All I have to say is thank you Burt, Roger Moore is my favorite Bond........
Janice Dickinson has been one of my muses ever since I was kid. She lived and came out on top, but now it looks like Janice is falling back into her old habits. With her best seller “No Lifeguard on Duty” she put her face back into the media. But three seasons of "America's Next Top Model” put her back on top. With her appearance on “The Surreal Life” it seems like Janice is heading back down the wrong road. Janice’s appearance on the “TSL” and all these new stories of her public display of her bad habits, are sad. This is not the Janice I meet back in 2003. I hope she pull out of this bad rut.

There are so many cookie cutter bands out there, but here are a few that I am loving right now....
I am continuing my efforts to read more and more about the foundation of the Separation of Church and State. Today I bring you a quote from George Mason, one of the most unrecognized figures in US history. Mason drafted the Virginia Declaration of Rights, the first law of its kind. He attended the Continental Congress and fought to ratify the Constitution because it contained no bill of rights. Mason would not sign the final Constitution document but his fight led to the First 10 Amendments of the Constitution. This quote is proof that the driving force of our founding fathers continues to be chopped up and used for personal gain. (Most politicians take out or skip that last sentence)
George Mason
Author of the 1776 Virginia Declaration of Rights
The Papers of George Mason, Vol. 3, p. 1071, 1119
"That Religion, or the Duty which we owe to our Creator, and the Manner of discharging it, can be directed only by Reason and Conviction, not by Force or Violence, and therefore all Men have an equal natural and unalienable Right to the free Exercise of Religion, according to the Dictates of Conscience, and that no particular religious Sect or Society ought to be favored or established by Law, in Preference to others"
I am excited for "Brokeback Mountain" which is due out on December 9th, 2005. A scan of the new Movie Poster has been posted. Take a look.

thanks to towelroad for the scan
I saw "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" yesterday, I generally liked the movie. I think both the original and the Burton version stand on their own. What I truly like about the film is how Tim Burton strayed from the original script and keeping true to the book. The first hour of the movie is a Visual Spectacular and just when you expected the movie to be over you a treated to 30 minute ending that leaves little unanswered.
Showing on the IMAX screen was the trailer for "Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire". I cannot wait for this movie to come out, November is a long ways away though.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Teaser Trailer
Clem finished the "Half Blood Prince" in less than 24 hours. He said he liked it and the ending could be interpreted differently. Production of the 5th movie will begin production in late February 2006 and released in June 2007.
Another movie to tickle our inner child is "The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" staring Tilda Swinton, Brian Cox and Rupert Everett. I loved these books growing up and I am excited about the movie.

With the recent launch of Logo TV, I have enjoyed some of their great shows. I am a sucker for anything to do with Weddings like "First Comes Love". But, the Travel series "Round Trip Ticket" has scared me away from a certain location. Like, the recent special on Stockholm, Sweden. With locals commenting how "There is very little for gay or lesbian to do in the city". One complaint by a young business man was "I have to be careful in public, I can't hold my boyfriends hand or show any PDA" and when asked why they are suppressed, the quick reply is "there is still a large Nazi population in Sweden." I've scratched Sweden off my to do list for now.............Man I hope this show just interviewed the wrong people. I hope their wrong.
Another downside to the "Round Trip Ticket" is I am tired of learning abou the best bars in town, best clubs in town or best gay hip hotels.......GIVE ME SOME CULTURE~!!!!!!!

I am proud to say Gavin Newsom is my MAYOR! The man has done a lot for San Francisco since his taken office. I ran across this really great picture of him -- I think its one of the best I have seen of him in along time. July 4th weekend I actually saw Gavin driving down Fell Street off of Gough Street with Kimberly Gilfoil (his soon to be Ex-Wife) in the passenger seat. Could they be working it out?
thank you buzznet for the pic
Everyone is a buzz about Madge!!!!!!!
I did my daily blog read today, and everyone has a post about Madonna and her new Vogue spread! I must say, She looks good......Thanks no less to GRACE CODDINGTON....she's a mastermind. If you are not sure who she is, She is the Fashion Editor for American Vogue. She makes Anna Wintour look good.

We are still working hard at looking at homes and placing bids. So far we are 0 for 2 - for both losses we came in second. Just got word that the first house we bid on in Willow Glen, San Jose sold for 725K, it was listed at 699K. We lost our second offer coming in a close second again. So now its back to looking, we found two houses last weekend and waiting a reply on a bid on one of them. Fingers Crossed.
Defamer reported a statement by Marvel Comic CEO Avi Arad today, bashing the crazy rumors spinning about X3 director Brett Ratner. Most of these rumors or statements are coming from the blog world and online movie critics. Mr. Arad states we are all "Idiots." Then goes on to paint Mr. Ratner as a stunning director based on movies like "Red Dragon", "Family Man" and two GIANT comedies. (FYI -- those two "Giant" comedies are Rush Hour 1 & 2)
Now I will give Mr. Ratner the two Giant Comedies, both Rush Hours are hilarious and huge box office successes. (See Box Office #'s below) But his two-namesake drama's is what has the movie junkies a flutter. Personally, I thought "Family Man" & "Red Dragon" were visually beautiful movies. The reason they flopped or in some eyes "Sucked" is BAD CASTING. My worry and others are starting to rant about, is Mr. Ratner's ability to cast the new roles in the upcoming X3. So far his 0/1, Kelsey Grammer as "Beast" is big questionable choice, critics will probably settle on him once they find out if they are going to CG him or live action". We can’t credit him for Vinnie Jones as “Juggernaut”, we can thank Matthew Vaughn for that brilliant choice. So, Mr. Ratner has two 2 major characters left to cast and the world is dying to know and they'll be quick to judge. It goes along with the turf.
Rush Hour = $175 Million (Budget
Rush Hour 2 = $230 Million (Budget $90 Million)
Family Man = $80 Million (Budget $60 Million)
Red Dragon = $95 Million (Budget $90 Million)
It's Simple -- Too Many Sequel & Remakes!!!!!!!!!
Add this Remake/Sequel to the FIRE. Emilio Estevez made a statement this week that he has signed for John Hughes sequel to "The Breakfast Club". I am sorry, there are so many films out there that should not be a Remake or a Sequel. Mr. Hughes, please leave your perfect masterpiece alone. Don't mess with Perfection! Also, don't touch the following films; (we don't need to know what happened to Sam, Gary, Wyatt & Ferris)
Mr. Hughes Don't Touch These Films
Pretty in Pink
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buller's Day Off
Weird Science
Mr. Mom
I would have added "Uncle Buck", "Great Outdoors" & "Plane, Trains & Automobiles" but you know that no comedian or actor could ever replace John Candy and I mean no one!
thank you Dark Horizons
Last night as I was checking recent posts on the News Websites, I ran into a interesting glitch or oddity. When I looked at a RSS feed for the Washington Post. An titled "Nearly 30 Die in Baghdad Attacks" read as followed (this is screen print of the RSS feed)

(click on the image to enlarge)
When you clicked on the RSS link to the article the Washington Post had the article written more differently. (below is a screen print of the article as it appears on the Washing Post website)

Now is it just me or is this a sick joke possibly due to a clever hack job? What do you think?
Adding to my interest in the Government's Separation of Church & State, here is a quote from Thomas Jefferson. The part that interests me most is that the government should us their legislative powers to reach actions and not opinions. I can think of many members of Congress who should see this quote.
Thomas Jefferson, President of the United States, "Principle Author of the Declaration of Independence" & "Primary Architect of The American Tradition of Separation of Church and State"
Letter to the Danbury Baptists, 1802
"Believing that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their Legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church and State"
There are many new amazing graphic or cartoon artists today. One I have fallen in love with is Glen Hanson. Patrick Devon's web blog showcases works by him and other artists like Patrick Fillion. I have enjoyed his site for sometime now, you should check it from time to time. Today Mr. Devon posted this drawing of Alan Cumming in "Cabaret", it's amazing. Je L'adore
The latest on Brad Pitt has nothing to do with Angelina Jolie and a Baby. This time he and Guy pal George Clooney are joining forces with Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s Husband) to open a New Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Brad, with his great knowledge of Architecture is expected to be involved in the design. I see something modern on the strip pretty soon, without a silly theme.
thank you hello

More and more the next X-men Movie is starting to sound like a joke. First they cast Kelsey Grammer as “Beast” and I am finally warm to that idea. Second, the latest director Brett Ratner says his putting a Mutant Prostitute with powers of seduction in the movie. Now Mr. Ratner is saying his ex Serena Williams (tennis player) and her sister Venus Williams are his top picks for the Prostitute role. Who cares, if Mr. Ratner is really serious about this new mutant he can do better than the William's sister. Mr. Ratner will you just do your job and pick a Gambit already – we are dying to know. And just so everyone knows, all I really care about is they keep Colossus in the film with a bigger part this time. In my opion
Our dear friend Louis LaSalle is an amazing photographer. We have a great piece in our art collection. To view his work and purchase prints to add to your collection, please visit his site. I am adding it to my links for future access.
The United States is slowly moving away from the basic foundation of the Constitution. More and more our political leaders in both the Federal and State Governments are using their positions as leaders in Civil Government as crusades based on their religious moral and values. The separation of Church and State is beginning to disappear. Many Democrats/Independents and members of Minority groups are fighting but the fight is getting harder and harder. Unfortunately this wave of government decisions based on religious beliefs or teachings has slowly trickled into education. I can’t remember any time in school where the teacher made it clear that Religion and Government are two separate things. The topic may even taboo today.
For the last 7 years I have thrown myself from wall to wall trying to understand how we’ve peddled this far backwards and how are we going to get back on track. I am reading more and more about this on the net and find myself searching for the points of view of our founding fathers and pioneers. I plan to write more on this subject and to find quotes……
James Madison “President of the United States” “Father of the Constitution”
Annals of Congress, Saturday, August 15th, 1789
Summary of the First Amendment
“Congress should not establish a religion and enforce the legal observation of it by law, nor compel men to worship God in any manner contary to their conscience, or that one sect might obtain a pre-eminence, or two combined together, and establish a religion to which they would compel others to conform”
thank you Ian D.
With all the media attention focused on the bombings in London. Some headlines are being pushed to the back burner, which could have a bad outcome. The Financial Time reported today that the Saudi Energy Officials have issued private warnings that they will not be able to meet western demand in 10-15 years. With the oil prices at continued record highs ($61+) and our increasing need for oil, we are in serious danger.
A better question or concern is what will come of the recent bid from China to buy Unocal. An official for Unocal made a statement they are "considering the bid under specific conditions."
With the Hurricane season underway, and Hurricane Dennis headed straight for New Orleans. I turn back to the recent FX network original movie "Oil Storm". Which details what would happen if a heavy Hurricane would hit the Port Fourchon pipeline. Scary to think we are so close and how real it could be. There is no listing for Oil Storm right now in the programming but if you get a chance to watch it, educate yourself.

Tomatoe Compote
Okay, I know everyone finds it really easy to just buy that jar of tomatoe sauce in the store because its so cheap. But to be honest it never tastes right. For my generation, the thought of cooking that amazing sauce your mother or grandmother made is time wasted. Who has 3-4 hours to mix and add and mix and add. Well, do I have a solution for you. A Tomatoe compote is the answer, its easy and care free.
Next time you are at the grocery store pick up 1 box of Pasta, 6-7 medium ripe red tomatoes, 1 yellow onion and a bulb of garlic.
When you get home wash the tomatoes and cut out the top of the tomatoe that had the stem - don't cut the tomatoe up, leave it whole.
Place the tomatoes in a baking dish (tops facing up)
Then peel and roughly chop the garlic (use as much as you want - more is better), and cut the whole onion into big chunks.
Place the onion and garlic around the tomatoes.
Sprinkle some salt and pepper over all the tomatoes
Then drizzle a Generous amount of olive oil over the tomatoes.
Back the dish at 250 degrees for 2-3 hours. It sounds like forever - but time goes fast.
(If you want more flavor add 1/2cup of red wine after the first hour or add some mushrooms)
When the compote is done start to boil the pasta
Pour the tomatoes and the juice into a blender and give it a quick whirl (just 15-20 seconds) – if you don’t have a blender “Sham On You”
And you have fresh pasta sauce without the long drama (If you double it you can save for later during the week)
Trust me it will be amazing – thank you to Alice Waters
